1. Product Introduction

"Piao Yichun" brand 001×4 is a polystyrene cation exchange resin with sulfonic acid groups, existing in the form of spherical beads. It features low pressure drop, good physical and chemical stability. It is conventionally supplied in sodium or hydrogen form. 001×4 can be used in water softening, dealkalization, deionization, pure water preparation, food industry, pharmaceutical and chemical treatment applications, etc.

4. Product Application

001×4 is a high-quality, granular, gel polystyrene sulfonate cation exchange resin. It has high particle integrity, good chemical and physical stability, and extremely low extractables. This resin can be used for treating food, drinking water, and water used in food processing. It is also suitable for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.

5. Resin Pretreatment

Ion exchange resins are industrial products; organic or inorganic impurities are inevitably introduced during production and transportation. These impurities will be gradually released during use, affecting effluent quality. Therefore, new resin must be pretreated before use. The specific method is as follows:

  1. After loading the resin into the exchanger, backwash the resin layer with clean water at an expansion rate of 50-100%, until the effluent is clear, odorless, and free of fine resin particles.
  2. Pass about 2 resin bed volumes of 4-5% hydrochloric acid solution through the resin layer at a flow rate of 2 m/h. After complete introduction, soak for 4-8 hours, drain the acid solution, and rinse with clean water until the effluent is near neutral. The rinse flow rate is 10-20 m/h.
  3. Pass 2 resin bed volumes of 2-5% alkali solution through the resin layer and soak following the same method as for the hydrochloric acid solution. Drain the alkali solution and rinse with clean water until the effluent is near neutral, using the same rinse flow rate.
  4. Repeating the acid and alkali treatment 2-3 times yields even better results. For pretreated resin, the regenerant dosage should be doubled during the first operation to ensure thorough regeneration.
